Digital platform, HelloAlice, has opened a business resource center to assist entrepreneurs managing the effects of COVID-19. Updated daily, with real-world funding, resources, and support for small business owners adapting to the impacts of coronavirus

Amount: $10,000 grants

Eligibility: 

  • Must be a legal for-profit business based in the US
  • Applicable must be submitted by business owner who is a founder and/or legal executive 
  • Must be a legal US resident (excluding Puerto Rico)

Entrepreneurship World Cup 2020

Hosted by the Misk Global Forum in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network, EWC is an international pitch competition open to entrepreneurs from all geographies and all stages, offering 3 global grand prizes, 15 global finalist stage prizes, and 100 national level prizes.

Amount: A share of $1 million in cash prizes and another $75 million in in-kind support.

Deadlines: Ongoing February – May 2020, open application

Eligibility: 

  • Company must be building venture-backable business

Facebook Small Business Grants Program

Facebook has set aside $100 million for small business grants to help eligible businesses retain employees, help with rent costs, connect with customers, and cover operational expenses. 

Amount: $100 million in overall cash grants and Facebook advertising credits, unclear allocation divide

Deadlines: Vary by location, all US eligible cities open by April 22nd

Eligibility:

  • Must be a for-profit company in business for more than 1 year
  • Must have 2-50 employees
  • Must have experienced challenges from COVID-19 
  • Must be in or near a Facebook operating site (30+ countries)

Salesforce Care: Supporting Small Businesses Through COVID-19 Recovery 

Salesforce Care Small Business Grants will provide capital to help keep businesses afloat. These grants will support small businesses as they work to replenish materials, pay salaries, or adapt their business model to overcome these challenging times. 

Amount: $10,000 grants and access to free Salesforce tools for 3 months 

Deadlines: Applications open April 24th, 2020 

Requirements:

  • Must be a for-profit company in business for 2 full years as of March 2020
  • Must have 2-50 employees
  • Must have an annual revenue between $250,0000 – $2 million 
  • Must have experienced challenges from COVID-19

US Chamber of Commerce Foundation

The Save Small Business Fund is a grantmaking initiative funded by corporate and philanthropic partners of the US Chamber of Commerce, offering short-term relief for small employers in the United States and its territories 

Amount: $5,000 grants

Deadlines: Application open, experiencing technical difficulties so check back for availability

Eligibility:

  • Must employ between 3 – 20 people 
  • Must be located in economically vulnerable communities 
  • Must have been harmed financially by the COVID-19 pandemic

VC Funds

Antler Call for Startups Fighting Covid-19

Antler is a global VC & startup generator enabling entrepreneurs to build and scale global businesses. Antler is looking to fund start-ups tackling the COVID-19 outbreak.

Amount: $100,000

Deadlines: Ongoing, apply via email  

Eligibility:

  • Start-ups must be tackling mitigation, medical equipment, remote health, or digital tools in connection to COVID-19

New Media Ventures

New Media Ventures is the first seed fund and national network of angel investors supporting media and tech startups that disrupt politics and catalyze progressive change.

Amount: $25,000 – $250,000

Deadlines: Applications open through May 4th 

Eligibility: 

  • Must be a scalable nonprofit or for-profit business
  • Must have a mission driven team 
  • Looking for media makers, movement builders, and civic leaders from vulnerable communities hit hardest by the pandemic

NFX’s Fast Seed Funding

NfX is a seed and Series A investment fund that has opened up FAST Seed initiative, opening an online portal to give start-ups funding decisions in the time of COVID-19 within 9 days.

Amount: $1 million – $2 million SAFE for 15%

Deadlines: Fist FAST window opens April 14th and closes May 22nd, first come first serve

Eligibility:

  • Must be a company looking for Seed funding

Open Road Alliance

Open Road Alliance is a private philanthropic initiative that serves the social sector and is offering four loan products to organizations affected by COVID-19 – Lost Event Revenue, Accelerating Incoming Emergency Funds, Co-Investment to Support Social Enterprises, Deep Impact Loans

Amount: varies depending on product, up to $500,000

Deadlines: Currently open

Eligibility:

  • Must be otherwise fully funded, but hit an unexpected roadblock (COVID-19)
  • An Open Road loan must fully address the problem
  • Must demonstrate the potential to create catalytic impact

Unshackled Ventures

Unshackled Ventures is an early-stage venture capital fund focused on funding immigrant founders. 

Amount: $200,000 – $300,000

  • Must be an immigrant founder at pre-stage

Women & Underrepresented Founders

The Red Backpack Fund

The Spanx by Sara Blakely Foundation has donated $5 million to support female entrepreneurs in the wake of COVID-19 and teamed up with GlobalGiving to establish The Red Backpack Fund.

Amount: 1,000 grants of $5,000

  • Must be a majority women-owned business 
  • Must have annual revenues less than $5 million
  • Must be able to demonstrate that COVID-19 is causing hardship
