Hilliary Turnipseed
Hilliary Turnipseed, Sr. Director of Talent, supports our portfolio companies in all aspects of hiring and talent management strategies.
Hilliary received her B.A. from American University in Washington, DC. After graduating, Hilliary immediately began her career in talent acquisition by working for retained executive search firm, DHR International. From there, Hilliary supported in-house recruitment and people operations efforts for notable organizations such as Discovery, Black Girls CODE, POLITICO, and Blackboard.
Prior to Kapor Capital, Hilliary managed her own talent advisory consultancy supporting early-stage technology startups, media, and social impact organizations. In her consulting work, Hilliary seamlessly integrated DEI strategies into her work, with an emphasis on advocating for underrepresented/underestimated candidates and creating two-way interviewing experiences.
Hilliary is also on the advisory board for Tech Rebalanced, an organization aimed at getting more underrepresented genders and sexes into tech. In addition, Hilliary serves as the Sponsorship Lead for Black Code Collective, a community-based organization for Black software developers to grow their skills, share knowledge and help each other progress throughout their careers.
Outside of work, Hilliary is a dedicated dog mom to her rescue pup, Bo. Hilliary also enjoys travel, volunteering, and career coaching.
